The results indicated that the separation of fluorite and calcite was impossible in the absence of depressant due to the similar floatability. With the depressant SL, the floatability of calcite was significantly reduced. When the slurry pH was 8.5, the recovery of calcite was about 20%.
Finally, the most widely seen fluorite flotation cases, including separation of fluorite from quartz, calcite, barite, and sulfide, are summarized individually. The present review sheds new light on the deep understanding of fluorite flotation, the future synthesis of reagents, as well as their schemes in practical use.
